保险业的无形性、相互制约性、或然性、信息不对称性、契约性、专业性等特点决定了诚信是保险业的根基。保险业承担着社会责任，是特殊的金融服务业，诚信是其生存、发展的基础和重要保障。全面开放的保险业尤其应将诚信建设作为当前急需完成的首要任务，并将诚信建设落实到保险业经营的整个过程。
