A New Method of Determining the Parameters of the MMPP Traffic Model for ATM |

| Abstract: | The MMPP model is usually used to approximate the actual input in the analysis of traffic in ATM networks, and the key to determining the model is how to estimate its parameters. A new method for estimating the parameters is proposed and analytic formulae with respect to the number of sources are derived. The method is very simple and robust and is shown to be feasible and useful by numerical results. |
