Research on the Image Thinking in the Translation of the Terminology by Means of two functions of Metaphor

This thesis is to research the importance and method of using image thinking in the translation of scientific and technical terminology. Firstly, through putting the metaphor theory into practice, it gives an theoretical analysis to the use of image thinking in the process of scientific discovery and invention, and in the expression of the terminology, and comes to a conclusion that it is also necessary to use image thinking in the translation of the terminology , so as to make the translation vivid, lively and acceptable to the target readers. Secondly, the thesis makes some contrasts between the effects of different translations to the same term, and puts forward several methods of u sing image thinking to translate the terminology.
