| Abstract: | Liang Qi-chao is a great patriot, as well as a politician, enlightenment thinker, educator, cultural and academic masters in the modem history of China. He advocated an open and inclusive attitude of actively learning and comparison to the Western Civilization, with purpose of absorbing advantages and bypassing the disadvantages of others. At the same time, he strongly opposed the tendency of denial of traditional culture completely, mean- while actively summarized and carried forward the excellent traditional Chinese culture, and proclaimed that it should strive to achieve the integration of Chinese and Western civilization in depth on the basis of learning widely from others- strong points, so as to create a new civilization that is beneficial to national progress, social develop- ment, and the formation of a stronger country and a civil human culture. |
