The Framework of the Wan River Exploitation in Sun Yat-sen's Industry Project

The exploitation and programming of the Yangtze River was the essential part of Industry Project of Sun Yat-sen. He attached great importance to the exploitation of the Wan River with its predominant location and abundant resources. Sun Yat-sen framed a concrete development layout of the Wan River as follows: the overall establishment of the land and water transportation system; the renovations of the watercourses along the river; the foundation of the leading business center on Wuhu and Anqing; the adequate utilization of the predominance of the resources; the development of industry and agriculture with the hope to achieve great economic and social development in Wan River region.
