| Abstract: | A spring force constant model for molecular Vibrations is applied to C_(60) molecule.Good agreement between calculated and observed frequencies from Raman and tnfraredexperiments is obtained with only six parameters. The calculation shows that the C=Cbond strength in the molecule is different from that of C_6H_6. A brief discussion on themolecular structure based on the calculation is presented. |
