Abstract:This essay is concerned with how to apply the prototype theory of categorization of cognitive linguistics to the vocabulary teaching in the classroom teaching activities for non-English majors at college, via two examples of Polysemy Category get] and Synonymy Category get], with the hope of motivating students in their study of English vocabulary in order to enhance their study efficiency.
