| Abstract: | Based on the character of natural environment and the pressure from population on natural resources, the reasons that caused poverty in the Northwest arid area,particularly Shanxi, Gansu,and Ningxia are analysed,where lands are loess hills,arid and semiarid mountain area.The ways and the methods of eliminating poverty are proposed. |
