OFDM-based Low-voltage Powerline High Rate Communication

Based on the experimental results, a simplified model forlow-voltage powerline used as a high frequencycommunication channel is presented. With this model, theOrthogonal Frequency Division Multiplexing (OFDM) basedhigh rate digital communication over low-voltage powerlineis analyzed and simulated. The capability of the signaltransmission system in overcoming multi-path interferenceand selection of the system parameters are discussed. Andtime-domain simulation is carried out to investigate thetransmission capability of the OFDM communication systemfor different mapping schemes and transmission powerlevels. Simulation results show that it is possible to realizehigh rate digital comuuication over low-voltage powerlineusing OFDM when the transmitted power is large enough.
