试论英语零位冠词

有关定冠词和不定冠词的专著有一些,但专门论述零位冠词用法的专著很少见.本文试图从论述零位冠词的用法特点,来解决使用冠词这一难题的一个方面.冠词的用法与名词的种类和性质有着密切的关系.因此,本文按照普通名词(包括具体名词、物质名词。抽象名词)和专有名词与零位冠词的关系进行叙述.除了谈到一些一般现象外,还列举了一些特殊情况,并与定冠词与不定冠词进行了必要的对比,以便能较深入,较全面地阐明零位冠词的用法与特点.

ON ZERO ALTICLE IN ENGLISH

There are quite a few books devoted to the Definite and Indefinite Articles,but hardly can a book be found which is characteristic of specializing in the discussion of the Zero Article. This paper attempts to solve the difficult problems of applying the Articles in one aspect by means of approaching to the different characteristics of the Zero Article in its use. The usage of the Articles is closely connected with the kinds and nature of nouns. Therefore,this paper has made a presentation of the relations between Common Nouns (include Concrete Nouns, Material Mouns,Abstract Nouns),Proper Nouns and the Zero Article. Apart from the general rules involved in the paper, some particular ones have been enumerated,too.By comparing the Zero Article with the Definite Article and the Indefinite Article , a deeper and comprehensive clarification of the use and features of the Zero Article can be made.
