| 摘 要： | This paper tries to explore the long-neglected fact in Amelia--Fielding's progressive opinion of woman,by analyzing the female characters in this novel.Far from being a failure,Amelia builds up a woman's epic of female self-awareness,offers us a new vision of the women's situation in Britain of 18th-century and inspires us to reread this book with lens off.
