探地雷达应用于植物粗根探测的研究进展

摘    要:应用探地雷达开展植物粗根探测始于1999年,经过15年的验证与发展,其粗根探测的有效性和精度已在不同探测物种和不同实验条件下得以证实。作为一种非侵入性的地球物理探测手段,探地雷达探测粗根的方法不但克服了传统根系调查耗时费力且破坏性较大的限制,并使得野外大面积重复性粗根观测成为可能。近几年,探地雷达粗根探测在粗根雷达信号正演模拟方法的建立,影响粗根探测精度的敏感因素分析,粗根生物量反演方法的改进和根系三维结构的重建等方面取得了进展,完善了探地雷达探测粗根的方法和流程,拓展了非侵入性根系探测的研究范围。随着探地雷达系统、数据处理软件和雷达数据采集方式的进一步改进,探地雷达在根系探测领域必将展示出更大的潜力。

Abstract:As a non-invasive geophysical tool for delineating buried features in shallow subsurface,ground-penetrating radar (GPR)has been applied to study coarse roots since 1999.So far,the feasibility of applying GPR to detect and quantify coarse roots has been validated in different soils.This paper reviews the recent important improvements in GPR-based coarse roots in-vestigation,including the establishment of a theoretical forward simulation protocol of root GPR radar signal,the assessment of the impacts of limiting factors on the accuracy of GPR-based coarse roots detection and quantification,the improvement of using GPR to estimate coarse root biomass,and the development of GPR-based 3D root system architectural reconstruction.Such ad-vances extend the application of GPR in coarse roots detection and quantification,which improves the non-invasive roots study in the field.As GPR system design,GPR data processing software,and GPR data collection settings are continuously improved, this noninvasive technique could offer greater potential to study coarse roots.
