Comprehensive Utilization of the Modified Expansive Soil in the Highway Engineering

Much attention on the use of the expansive soil has been paid because of the special engineeringcharacteristics and morphology and the damage effects as well. Many methods have been used to reduce the damage effectsand improve the application of expensive soil during recent years. One of the effective methods is the modified measure dueto the ratio of cost- performance. The major factors affecting the expansive- shrinkage performance and the strength werediscussed through all kinds of the modified expansive soil's status in quo. Recent research work on the chemicalconsolidation ofexpensive soil was reviewed in the paper.
