功能理论与公示语翻译误差——以绍兴名人故居为例

公示语是宣传城市文化的一项重要内容。在国际化程度越来越高的今天，公示语的翻译显得尤为重要。绍兴作为“名士之乡”，众多的名人故居成为了本地的旅游与文化特色。然而在故居公示语的翻译方面，还存在着一些误差。文章以绍兴名人故居的公示语为例，运用功能翻译理论，对公示语的翻译误差与策略作初步的探讨，目的在于规范绍兴公示语的同时，更好地推广绍兴文化，突显出绍兴应有的文化底蕴。

To Analyze Translation Errors in Public Signs Based on the Functionalist Theory --Taking the Former Residences of Shaoxing Celebrities as Examples

Public signs are important means to popularize the urban culture. Nowadays, with the inter- nationalization of the city, the translation of public signs appears to be particularly important. As the ＂Hometown of Celebrities＂, Shaoxing is featured by many Former Residences of Celebrities. However, there are various errors in the English version of the public sings. Therefore, taking the translation in Former Residences of Shaoxing Celebrities as an example, this article attempts to analyze the translation errors in public signs and propose some strategies by referring to the functionalist theory. It aims at standardizing the translation of public signs in Shaoxing, in the meantime, promoting and highlighting its local culture.
