1860年太平天国镇江攻防战述评

在1860年太平天国东征苏南战役期间，太清双方在镇江的战斗是整个东征战役的重要组成部分。太平军因为以苏南为主攻方向，以及在水师方面明显的战术劣势，对镇江的进攻便只能停留在战术牵制的水平。太平军虽然无法摧毁镇江清军的防御体系，但是仍然实现了他们的战术牵制任务。比较镇江在杨秀清时期，处于天京、镇江、扬州防御三角体系的焦点位置，此时镇江在太平天国战争中战略地位和战术价值之下降，已经是不争的事实。

Taiping Heavenly Kingdom's battle in Zhenjiang in 1860

During the Battle of March Eastward to South Jiangsu, the battle at Zhenjiang was the important part of the entire battle. Because of Taiping's main object on South Jiangsu and the weakness of the navy, the attack on Zhenjiang simply remained curbing enemy. Taiping Army accomplished its military tactics fully, although it did not penetrate through Qing Army's defensing system. Compared with the position of Zhenjiang during the period supervised by Yang Xiuqing when Zhenjiang is a key point in the triangle relation among Nanjing, Zhenjiang and Yang-zhou, it is absolutely a fact that the strategic position and tactical value of Zhenjiang declined.
