魏晋南北朝时期的中国地理学研究

本文在分析魏晋南北朝时期（公元２２０—５８９年）中国地理学发展特点的基础上，探讨了影响当时地理学发展的原因。指出，当时中国地理学．的发展具有以下四方面的突出特点：（１）大地认识论的活跃；（２）区域地理认识的进一步深入；（３）传统地图编制理论的创立；（４）地理志（地记）的繁荣。影响其发展的原因则表现在：（１）传统文化思想的继承，奠定了地理学发展的基础；（２）汉族政治中心的转移，加速了对新区域的地理认识；（３）多种宗教哲学思想的传播，促进了有关地理认识的进步。

A STUDY ON CHINESE GEOGRAPHY FROM WEL-JIN TO NORTHERN AND SOUTHERN DYNASTIES

On the basis of analysing the development of geography in China from the Wei-Jin to the Northern and Southern Dynasties (220-589), this paper expounds the four outstanding characteristics of China's geography during that period as follows: (1) Enrichment of the theory of the earth; (2) Increase of knowledge of regional geography; (3) Foundation of the theory of the compilation and making of traditional maps; (4) Prosperity of g6ographical records. In addition, it discusses the reasons for the development of Chinese geography of the period: (1) Inheriting traditional culture laid the foundation for geographical development;(2) transference of political centres widened knoWledge of regional geography; (3) Spread of varied religious philosophy promoted the progress of geography.
