一种适用于甚低比特率视频编码的运动估计技术

提出了一种有效的适用于甚低比特率视频编码的运动估计新技术。通过强加一定的空间连续性准则使得运动场结构更加平滑，并且将具有相同运动矢量的相邻图像子块合并为一组，对于这一组中的所有图像子块，只需传输一个运动矢量及简单表示组中各图像子块位置的信息。这样可减少对运动矢量编码传输的代价，同时又得到类似于采用经典块匹配技术所得的预测误差。

A Motion Estimation Technique for Very Low Bit rate Video Coding

This paper presents an efficient motion estimation technique for very low bit rate video coding.In order to transmit the motion information efficiently,this paper proposes a new technique:the motion field structure is forced to be smooth by imposing a certain spatial consistency criterion,and neighboring blocks with the same motion vector are combined into a group and only single motion vector and simple grouping information need be transmitted for these blocks.It reduces the cost of encoding the motion vectors while providing a similar prediction error when compared to classical block matching techniques.
