Introduction and Application Progress of the Root Zone Water Quality Model(RZWQM)

The paper summarized the development,function and flow of the Root Zone Water Quality Model(RZWQM).RZWQM is made up of six major components,described as physical processes,soil chemical processes,nutrient processes,crop production processes,pesticide processes,management processes.The problems in simulating process and the features of RZWQM98 were discussed,and the application progress of the model was also summarized.The model was a useful tool in simulating crop development and the movement of water,nutrients and pesticides over and through the root zone.
