| 摘 要： | 《八月之光》的主人公乔性格孤僻冷漠，给人留下了无情凶残的印象。然而在他的内心，也曾有过对亲情的渴望、对爱情的向往。生活对他的残酷磨炼使他失去了对人与人之间关系的信心，最终成了读者眼中凶狠的杀人犯。文章从萨特“为他人的存在”这个角度来分析乔与他生命中女人的关系，从而探讨他的内心世界。

| Abstract: | Joe, the hero of Light in August, is unsociable and indifferent, who impresses others with his ruthlessness. Factually, he ever has a strong desire for family love and has been attracted by love, however, the hardness of life makes him lose confidence in the relationship with others and finally leads him to give up going along well with others and be considered as a ruthless murderer. The paper analyses the relationships between Joe and the women in his life from Sartre＇s concept of＂Being-for-Others＂, with the aim of exploring Joe＇s interior world. |
