| Abstract: | Based on the theories of turn - taking and communicative role switching, this paper explores the characters＂ power relation and role switching in the detective novel Death on the Nile. It reveals the interpersonal relation, especially the power relation between the characters, through analyzing the turn - taking, discourse strategies, and the paralinguistic features in the novel. |
