| Abstract: | Sound iconicity can be divided into three types: the iconicity of a simple sound, the iconicity of a sound
cluster and the iconicity of an onomatopoeia word. A discourse will get more expressive if sound iconicity is em-
ployed to describe, to contrast, to emphasize or to create a new artistic conception. Sound iconicity is one of ve-
hicles of coherence, though witch meanings can be in accordance with forms and the discourse will become vivid. |
