关于儒学与民族精神的思考

在建设社会主义现代化进程中明确提出民族精神和道德继承问题,这是我们民族在文化层面上认识的飞跃,而把这种带有指导方向性的语言写到党的十六大政治报告中,无疑对我们民族精神文化建设和社会文明的发展具有非同寻常的意义.这可能意味着我们对传统文化及儒学认识的一个时代的结束.即从此我们可以摆脱那种割断历史、否定传统的激进主义态度,正视曾经作为中华传统文化主流的儒学及其现代价值了.但是我们仍应保持对儒学进行反思的态度,既要提炼其精华,也要剔除儒学传统中因袭着的落后、保守、封建的思想观念,以防它们成为改革开放、推进现代化事业的绊脚石.

On Confucianism and Our National Spirit

National spirit and moral inheritance have been put forward in the process of modern socialist construction,which is a leap in the cultural cognition. Such directional statement has been included in the political report of the 16th Central Commitee of the CPC and this will certainly play an extraordinary role in the national spiritual construction and the development of social civilization. From then on, we can quit the radical attitude of denying history and tradition and correctly treat Confucianism,which was once main stream of Chinese tradition, and its modern value,symbolizing a cease of a historical stage of interpreting our traditional culture and Confucianism.However,we should have a profound consideration of Confucianism:take its essence and discard the backward and conservative feudal thoughts so as to prevent it from setting back our reform and open-up or socialist constrution.
