| Abstract: | Traditional theatrical buildings in Shanxi province are mostly courtyard theatres. Courtyard helps to maintain a low noise background through separating the theater from environmental noise and its boundary could provide early reflections.The stage, an enclosed structure,is conducive to early reflection. Furthermore,the stage also serves as the entry to the theater with a height of 2.5 m or so,which is beneficial to the reflection of direct sound. Based on vast investigations, an analysis is illustrated in this paper with emphasis on the acoustic quality of courtyard theater in Shanxi province. |
