| Abstract: | A compact difference scheme is introduced to the one-dimensional PDES with piecewise constant smooth coefficients.It is shown that the solution of the difference scheme tends to the solution of the differential equation in the sense of the maximum norm by matrix analysis method and the rate of convergence is O(h3). |
