"高原现象"和"一年级现象"--一项来自地方高校的调查

陈亚平在重点高校做了一项调查,发现英语专业的学生一年级在学习上取得了巨大的进步,但在二年级时学习上出现了停滞不前的现象,即“高原现象”。为了验证这种现象在地方高校是否存在,笔者对地方高校英语专业的学生进行了问卷调查。结果发现：地方高校的一年级学生并未或只取得了很小的进步,即文中所界定的“一年级现象”。分析了产生这两种现象的原因,并提出了应对措施。特别指出：在不同的阶段应采取不同的对策。

An investigation in local institutes: "Plateau Phenomenon" and "Grade One Phenomenon"

Chen Yaping did an investigation in a four-year university, and discovered that the English majors underwent a rapid progress in Grade One, but slow development or even stagnation took place in the second year's study, which was defined as "Plateau Phenomenon". In order to testify the existence of the phenomenon, another investigation was carried out in some local institutes. The results are the English majors in the local institutes made no or little advancement in Grade One, which was defined as "Grade One Phenomenon" in this article. After defining the two terms, the causes of them are analyzed respectively. Finally, some solutions to cope with the stagnation in acquiring a second language are suggested. It's worth attention that different measures should taken in different situations.
