从语用优先语义看《红楼梦》对话翻译

以《红楼梦》杨、霍译本为例,根据"汉语语用优先语义"这一观点,从语用对等视角进行分析,阐述了汉语对话英译语用优先原则,即提出把汉语人物对话语言译成英语时,除了要力求语义方面的对等外,更要优先注意语用效果的对等,语用对等优先语义对等。译者要考虑如何在译语中体现原语的言外之力,留心原文本中有意违背交际原则的地方,理解说话人的弦外之音,使原语和译语达到语用对等。

A comment on the dialogue translation of A Dream Of Red Mansion from the perspective of pragmatic semantic priority

Taking the translations of A Dream Of Red Mansion by Yang Xianyi and Hawkes, according to the view of "priority of Chinese pragmatics over semantics and from the perspective of pragmatic equivallence, this paper demonstrates pragmatic priority principle used in English translation of Chinese dialogues, that is, when translating the dialogues of Chinese characters into English, translators should give priority to the equivallence of pragmatic effect besides semantic equivallence. They should consider how to express the implication of original language and pay attention to violation of communication principle in the original text so to achieve the pragmatic equivallence of the original languge and target language.
