| 摘 要： | 认知语言学认为,方位隐喻在人类的认知活动中扮演着重要的角色,许多抽象概念都是通过方位隐喻才得以构建的。本文从认知语言学角度出发,系统地对比分析了＂LOW＂/＂低＂在英汉两种语言中的隐喻映射,结果发现：英汉两种语言中与＂LOW＂/＂低＂有关的方位隐喻映射主要集中在情感域、数量域、社会地位域、声音域、社会评价域和时间域,两者之间表现出一种同异并存、同大于异的关系。

| Abstract: | Cognitive linguistics holds that orientational metaphors play an important role in human cognition and that many abstract concepts are constructed through them. This paper, from the cognitive perspective, makes a systematic investigation into the metaphorical mapping of the locative term LOW/DI in both English and Chinese based on the collected data. The study shows that the metaphorical mappings of LOW/DI mainly involve the target domains of emotion, number, social status, sound, social evaluation and time in both English and Chinese and that the two languages share both similarities and differences with more similarities than differences. |
