The Design of a Power Source for Driving the Semiconductor Laser

Based on the operating characteristic of the semiconductor laser, a power source is designed for its driving. The driving source,simple in construction, consists of a slow start-up circuit and a cir- cuit for the autocontrol of power gain. These circuits exercise such functions as prevention of impube current,antomatic stabilization of operating point,and automatic overload protection. A full discussion on these circuits is devoted to their composition and working principle as well as their design points and regulation means.
