| Abstract: | This study deal with embryoide produced from root-derived callus of American ginseng(Panax quinquefolium L.)and observe the cytohistological variation.When root explants are cultured on MS medium supplemented with 2,4-D0. 5ppm,Kt0. lppm,the callus in B_5 or MS/2 medium enriched with NAA,6-BA reveals the differntiation of numerous embryoids.Most of the embryoids are normal and bipolar.They are originated from the surface of callus but develope at different times.Abnormal cotyledonary embryoids are commonly observed.A giant polycotyledonary embryoid can be seen in this experiment.Secondary embryoids or adventtious shootbuds can develope from one embryoid in many cases. |
