从语用角度探析《红楼梦》中比喻的翻译

从《红楼梦》的两种全译本中选取部分译例,根据其特定文化语境以及情景语境中比喻喻体联想意义的异同进行语用对比分析。通过对比分析,发现霍译采用了各种有效手段对比喻喻体进行了恰当处理,不仅表达出原文喻体的语用意义,也再现了原文语言的生动形象,从而更好地实现了比喻的语用效果,达到了语用等效。在此基础上,提出了在汉英比喻翻译中应采取的相应处理方法。

Translation of similes and metaphors in Hong Lou Meng:a pragmatic perspective

Taking examples from the two English versions of Hong Lou Meng,the paper explores the translation of similes and metaphors in cultural context and situational context from a pragmatic perspective. Through the pragmatic contrast study, readers can see clearly that Hawkes' version not only reproduces the pragmatic meaning, but also recreates the vividness of the original language, therefore successfully achieves the pragmatic equivalent effect by adopting appropriate translation techniques. The author also points out that appropriate translation techniques should be adopted so as to achieve the pragmatic equivalent effect between the target-language text and the original text in the translation of similes and metaphors.
