| Abstract: | This paper studies the regional variance pattern of runoff during dry season for an area of 800 000km~2 in the granite area in South China. It is found that the ratio of runoff during dry season increase as the granite area in the catchment increases and this reletionship is regional. The regional boundary is related to geologic age of granite formation and times of large-scale mountain formation. Good reletionship between the percentage of surface runoff and the ratio of forest has been found for regional representative catchments with nearly the same base rock area in the region between Hunan and Jiangxi provinces. |
