A Preliminary Study on Arbor Layer Structure of Mountain Forest and Niche Characteristics of Main Populations in Guiyang

The arbor layer structure,species diversity and main population niche of the mountain forest in Guiyang of Guizhou province were studied according to sampling investigation.The results show that evergreens broadleaved forest was the main type of the forest vegetation.There＇we 41 families and 76 species in the arbor layers,with more species Fagaceae（8）,Lauraceae（8）,Rosaceae（4）,Ulmaceae（3） and Papionaceae（3）.In general,species in the arbor layers were abundant.But the difference of species diversity between community was remarkable.The index of Shannon-Wiener was 0.59-3.16,ecological dominance（ED） 0.1-0.81.The order of the value about niche width from large to small was Liquidambar formosana,Carpinus pubescens,Photinia daviasoniae,Pistacia chinensis,Celtis sinensis,Michelia martinia,Cyclobalanopsis glanca,Castanopsis eyrei var.neocaleriei,Cinnamomum wisonii and Cinnamomum bodinieri.The niche width for Zelkora serrata and Castanopsis fagesii were narrow.The populations with greater value of niche overlap were Cyclobalanopsis glanca Carpinus pubescens and Cyclobalanopsis glanca Acer oblongum.Photinia daviasoniae Cornus macrophylla,Michelia martinia Cinnamomum wisonii,Liquidambar formosana Castanopsis fagesii,Carpinus pubescens Castanopsis fagesii.Zelkora serrata and Castanopsis fagesii did not have any niche overlap with most of the populations.
