It is well known that reading ability is one of the most important abilities in English study,There're many skills to improve reading abilities.However,at the very beginning of the new school term,I noticed such a phenomenon--some teachers put a lot of time in the explanation of words and grammar,ignoring reading,the key in English study.In this paper,I will talk about several typical reading skills as an ordinary English teacher,I hope that all the college English teachers can still put the stress on the training of the students' reading ability.
