| Abstract: | Negative sentences may convey positive meanings either in idiomatic expressions, or for the severity of the tone or the rhetorical purpose. Negative sentences with non-negative meanings are one of the difficulties in grammar learning for Chinese students. The paper is to discuss and summarize this kind of phenomenon from the form and sense of the English language. |
