| Abstract: | The foam microstructure of polyurethane is observed by use of the micrography technique. The effects of foam microstructure on thermal conductivity for the polyurethane are investigated. According to the gas diffusion theory the mechanism of thermal aging of the polyurethane is analysed and an equation for calculating the apparent thermal conductivity of the foam material is derived. It is found that the agreement between the calculated and experimental results is satisfactory. |
