On the Value of Lexical Study of Animal Words

A large number of words relating to animals exist in Chinese language,including many nouns that refer to the names of the animals,as well as the compound words and fixed structures deriving from them.On the one hand,the animal words,which are lively and vivid,have greatly enriched vocabulary system.On the other hand,the derivative of new words,the development of internal meaning and the paradigmatic relationship between word and word reveal the systematicness of vocabulary.Therefore,there are important study values in animal words.
