Abstract:The purpose that British writer James Barrie set an important figure the little fairy "Tinker Bell" in the novel Peter Pan is that she is in fact a symbol of the awakening of children’s self-consciousness,reflecting an embodiment of good and evil intertwined nature of children,the anxiety that childhood need concerning in the specific period and the self-discovery of gender identity.The "Never Land Trip" in the novel builds a structural model of growth ceremony.The significance of the novel not only lies in the "digestion" of mainstream law in the period of culture transition,but also its exploration into the germination of children’s self-consciousness in all aspects,which creates a new field for constructing children’s inner world.
