| Abstract: | Clyde, who is a leading character in An American Tragedy, which is one of the best long novels of Dreiser, degenerates from an innocent young person to a criminal and destroys himself finally. This paper analyses Clyde loves process from the point of the contest between humanity and morality and law. |
