论跨文化交际中译者的定位

在文化翻译中,译者的传统角色是隐身。不过译者的隐身是不利于跨文化交际的。韦努蒂反传统而推出异化翻译,其目的是使译者在译本中“现身”。可是,中外翻译实践表明,韦氏的这种让译者现身的抵抗式翻译也不能达到促进文化交流的目的。通过对译者在文化翻译中所扮演的这两种截然相反的角色及其对文化交流的影响所进行的分析来看,译者在归化和异化的中间地带的适度现身更能促进跨文化交际。

On the Location of the Translator in Intercultural Communication

Traditionally speaking,in cultural translation the translator is invisible in the translated text(TT),for cultural difference is erased.Lawrence Venuti advocates foreignization in opposition to the tradition of domestication so as to make the translator visible.However,neither the translator's extreme invisibility nor his/her absolute visibility does any good to intercultural communication.After approaching the two definitely opposite roles the translator plays in cultural translation and their influences on intercultural contact,this author argues that the translator's proper visibility can be more conducive to promoting intercultural communication.
