| Abstract: | A numerical solution in the meridian plane of the full continuity equation for electrons in mid and low latitude F-region is investigated. The ionospheric plasma moving in the electromagnetic drift frame of reference, the dipolar approximation of geomagnetic field is assumed and O+ is regarded as the dominantion. The effects of ambipolar diffusion, neutral wind, electromagnetic drift, and temperature are taken into account. Numerical simulation results show that the phenomena of equatorial anomaly is only at daytime in geomagnetic quiet periods. During geomagnetic storms periods,strong eastward electric field may cause variations in the vertical drift of the equatorial ionosphere plasma, and hence form largesclae field-aligned irregularities and anomaly occurs even at nighttime. |
