Semantic Extension and Pragmatic Extension

This article approaches neologism from the angle of semantic extension. There is interation between society and language. Changes of society always lead to charges of language, especially to the emergance of neologism.Semantic extension in a broad sense includes meaning extension and pragmatic extension. We can take the changes of society as the basis, semantic extension and pragmatic extension as the approach and the emergence of neologism as the result.
