Liu Bingzhong and His Poetry--the First Man of Jiangxi Poetry between the Late Song and Early Yuan Dynasties

The paper makes a study of Liu Bingzhong and his poetry,and it holds that he served the Mongolian reign not necessarily for his own success,but that he was forced to.That is the difference between him and those officials in the Nan Song Dynasty who surrendered to the rulers.Liu's nationality is Han,and his birthplace was occupied by Mongolian.He followed Hu Bilie to fight in the places of Yunan,Ezhou,etc.and protected a large number of Han people and officials in the Nan Song Dynasty.His suggestions were accepted by the Mongolian ruler and many cultural tradition of the Confucian school was saved.The content of his poetry is very rich.He was regarded as the first man and was recorded in a collection of poetry at that time.
