通过近年期刊文献和最新网上信息，评述了Ｉｎｔｅｒｎｅｔ的发展历程及其所提供的信息服务；Ｉｎ－ｔｅｒｎｅｔ在生物科学研究中的应用；生物学数据库以及服务器－客户模式；生物学研究及其杂志的常用 ＷＷＷ服务器及地址等。认为 Ｉｎｔｅｒｎｅｔ的发展为传统的生物科学带来前所未有的契机与挑战，也使生物科学研究迅速国际化。

Application of Internet in biology

Through inquiring literature of journals in recent years and information from internet up to date, the following aspects are summarized. The first is the developing progression of internet and providing information service. The second is application of internet in biological science researches. The third is biological database and server-client structure, and the fourth is many in common use WWW servers and addresses in biological researches and in biological journals and so on. It is found that the development of internet brings unprecedented opportunity and challenge to traditional science of biology, and also makes researches on biological science internationalized rapidly.
