| Abstract: | Electronic mail is one of the most popular services in communication networks. The security of electronic mail is discussed,and some cryptographic techniques to protect against illegal reading,altering and forging are described,including data encryption and digital signatures etc. Finally,some secure electronic mail systems are introduced,the Pretty Good Privacy(PGP),an E mail and file encryption program widely used in Internet,is presented. |
