Abstract:The advantages of developing a CNC system using the Industrial Personal Computer (IPC) are analyzed and a practical scheme is proposed. A master-slave distributed system is worked out using an IPC-286 and a self-made motion control card. The real-time multi-task concurrent processing in DOS environment is described. The master employs the process switchover to accomplish data processing and display processing in turn, while the slave adopts the timing interruption to tackle interpolation and position control. The master and the slave are coordinated through the same timing interruption. The method for solving the non-reentry of DOS in the system is explained.
