Abstract:While remarkble progress in the filed of semiconductor superlattice and quanturm well is being made, two and threedimensional quantum confinecl microstructures, that is, quantum wire and dot (box), are bicoming a hot spot, in lowdimensional Physics and material science. At present,the most important point in this research work is the formation ofquantum microsuctures by the super-thin-semiconductor epitaxy and fine beam fabrication, This paper mainlyintroduced the fabriacation size limits and structure formation methods of these low dimemsional materials, and itsapplication in quantum functional devices and made a detailed comments on them.
