| Abstract: | The "white band" in continuous casting billets,caused by electromagnetic stirring,was investigated experimentally with theorectical consideration. The results indicated that the features of the movementdue to electromagnetic stirring in the solidification process of a continuous casting billet are the crucial causefor .white bandal,and a special type of electromagnetic stirring can efficiently eliminate theal white band' incontinuous casting billets. |
