西藏岩画的发现

西藏岩画最初的发现者大都是入藏考察的外国学者,弗兰克、杜齐等人最早在藏西发现岩画,杜齐教授很早便推测出这些古老岩画为北部游牧民族所为。中国西藏自己的岩画发现始于20世纪80年代中期,迄今为止,在众多考古工作者及相关人士的共同努力下,西藏岩画发现取得了相当大的成绩。各地经调查发现并记录的古代岩画已有近百处地点,上千幅画面,近万个单体图像,分布在西藏自治区的十几个县境内。瞻望前景,西藏岩画的发现可能还拥有一个比较乐观的前景。基于岩画发现的一般规律,西藏高原几乎具备岩画大规模存在的诸多条件——牧猎经济传统;鲜明而突出的苯教文化特色;古象雄王国的所在地等等;它们不仅意味着藏北羌塘草原在西藏的铜石并用时期,曾经是文化、经济相当发达的地区,也就为岩画的存在奠定了基础,西藏岩画的发现应该是对传说中的古象雄国的揭密,是我们认识藏北高原古代历史文化的一个重要的图象资料。

The discovery of Tibetan Rock Paintings

The most of first discoverers of Tibetan rock paintings are foreign scholars who came to do exploratory research in Tibet.They first found rock paintings in western Tibet,and they found the old paintings done by the nomads from the north.The home scholars did not discover the old paintings until in the mid-1980s.Due to the efforts of many archaeologists and the related people on the discovery of the Tibetan rock paintings,considerable success has already been achieved.Nearly 100 rock-painting spots have been discovered and recorded.There are more than a thousand sets of images and nearly ten thousands of mono-images found in a dozen counties of Tibet Autonomous Region.The discovery of Tibetan rock paintings may still have a more optimistic prospect.Based on the general laws of the rock-painting discoveries,it is possible of the existence of a large collection of rock paintings as Tibet plateau have advantages for it,such as the stocking and hunting economic tradition,the prominent Bon religious culture,the location of the Ancient Shangshong Kingdom,etc.They lay the foundation for the existence of Tibetan traditional rock paintings.The discoveries of rock paintings indicate that the Chang Tang grassland in northern Tibet was a cultural,economic well-developed area in Tibet during Chalcolithic Time.They also brought the Ancient Shangshong Kingdom to light.The rock paintings are important materials for us to understand the ancient Tibetan history and culture.
