摘    要:提出了一种基于小波变换的静态图像压缩方法.将图像作多次小波分解后,对高频系数进行适当量化以减少其符号数,然后对量化后的系数作Huffman编码及RLE编码.实验证明这是一种比较有效的编码方法,消除了方块效应,且该算法可得到不同的质量等级和比特率,适合网络图像传输.

Abstract:A static image compressing method based on wavelet transform is proposed. The image data is decomposed many times using wavelet transform, and proper quantification of the h. f. coefficients is carried out to reduce the number of symbols. The quantized coefficients are then encoded using the Huffman and RLE methods. Experimental results show that the algorithm proposed is good and the block effect can be eliminated. Another merit of this mehtod is that various quality levels and bit rates can be obtained, which is useful to image transmission in a network.
