GATT rejoining will produce tremendous influence on Dongguan's economy and bring opportunities and challenges to Dongguan's manufacturing industry, introduction of foreign capital, the third industry, real estate and state-owned enterprises. GATT rejoining exists more opportunities and less challenges to Dongguan's economy; the opportunity exists in a short period of time and the challenge in a long one. Dongguan should carry out reformation in accordance with the requests of international convention and market economy, and at the same time improve the environment of investment, raise the capability of enterprise competition. All this is our essential countermeasure.
